At St. Lawrence, I have been involved in many extracurricular activities. To name a few, I am a member of the Kappa Delta Sigma sorority, and have been involved in dance ensemble and the Dance Team for all four years of my college career. During the summer of my freshman and sophomore year, I worked at the St. Lawrence Alumni Camp on Upper Saranac Lake, also referred to as Camp Canaras. As a Junior, I ventured off to Europe to study abroad in Italy, participating in the newly offered Cortona Program, specifically geared toward studio art majors. This past summer, I took two summer courses, children’s book illustration and printmaking, at The Rhode Island School of Art and Design, which was an enlightening experience to be in such an artistically demanding environment once again.
This summer, 2012, I was recently just hired to be a printmaking counselor at Art Camp in Long Lake NY, where I will be teaching campers from the ages of 9 to 16 various printmaking processes, including wood cuts, intaglio, monotypes, and silk screening, with a little book making and binding thrown in.
When I am not in the art department, I enjoy figure skating, and hanging out with friends all over campus. This semester, I am doing something new, and am trying out theater as a cast member in the up-coming musical It’s All Greek to Me -an original musical written, directed, and composed by some of our very own St. Lawrence students!
