During my past three years at St. Lawrence, I have been involved in many extracurricular activities. Some of which would be: being on the St. Lawrence National Riding Team; as a freshman I rode in the IHSA National Horseshow, representing St. Lawrence and winning my division to help our team clinch 2nd place in the country, being the secretary for the student organization and themed L.I.G.H.T. House (Living Inspirationally & Growing Healthy Together) as well as an employee of the schools own Pub 56 bar and eatery.

In my sophomore year I began focusing on my art studies, as well as my education studies. I have for the past three years taught summer art classes, one of which is my own personally created and designed cartooning class. I help children ages six to thirteen design their own super-heros, as well as develop story building skills, and finally teach them basic comic book panel design and special effects.  During my sophomore fall I met my current advisor and mentor Amy Hauber, who, along with two visiting artists, inspired me to teach and lead my own peace project at my elementary school. This project became an installation for the school’s lobby. My junior fall I partook in the Cortona, Italy study abroad program that is designed specifically for studio art students. Upon my return this spring (2013), I have begun two new studio courses, and I am currently the teaching assistant for the Ceramics I class, which I am enjoying very much!

When I am not in the studio, I am often at the barn, sipping tea in the L.I.G.H.T House, or working with elementary students at local schools. I am also, as most St. Lawrence students are, a passionate hockey fan (go Philadelphia Flyers and SLU Saints!). Additionally both my parents are St. Lawrence alums as well as SLU Riding alums!
