There are so many things about St. Lawrence that I love and will miss after I graduate. The people I have met here, from the students to the professors and other members of the faculty, have truly enriched my life and the same can also be said about the courses I have taken. Of all the courses I have taken, the ones in the gender and sexuality studies program have had the most profound impact on my life. The courses I have taken in combination with the tremendous support I have received from the professors in this department have lead me to pursue my research interests in grad school. My specific focus being on the construction of homophobia, and it's perpetuation in various social structures and environments that in turn make the coming out process challenging for the majority of gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth.
