Coming into St. Lawrence her freshman year, Saddie knew she wanted to major in environmental studies, but after taking an introductory geology course she wanted to explore the field of geology as well. Saddie took multiple geology courses her sophomore year, and then during the fall semester of her junior year, Saddie became a lab TA for the same course that sparked her love for geology. She also became a member of Sigma Gamma Epsilon, The National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences.

This upcoming spring semester ’13, Saddie will be studying abroad at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia where she will be exploring the environmental and geological aspects of “Down Under.” Returning to St. Lawrence for her senior year Saddie will continue being a teacher’s assistant. After graduation Saddie will continue her education in environmental and earth sciences. One day she hopes to work for the Department of Environmental Conservation or an environmental consulting firm or teach science to elementary students. No matter her choice of employment Saddie hopes to further her love for earth science throughout her career.
