I graduated from South Grenville District High School in Prescott, Ontario and was nominated for the North Country Augsbury Scholarship. I came to St. Lawrence for a tour and fell in love with the campus and the smaller community feel. I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to study in University so what I liked most about SLU was that I didn’t have to declare a major until the end of sophomore year. Having those two years to take a broad range of classes has really helped me pursue new interests and take advantage of opportunities, such as studying abroad. I completed my FYS in France, which for me, has been a life changing experience. Going abroad during my first year here was a major decision, but I am so happy to have had that experience because not many students have that chance. The people I met, the places I saw and the amount of world knowledge that I have gained have truly led me in a direction I never thought I would follow. I now speak English and French, and having that understanding of two languages really allows me to view the world with a new perspective. I am currently in my senior and en route to graduation! My future interests lie in attending graduate school, working in higher education within the Student Life or International Studies sector of a college or university, and eventually being able to teach!
