More than 30 presentations at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America, held in Portland, OR, were made by St. Lawrence faculty, students and alumni. All current members of the department gave presenations of their work at the conference.
Sean Regan '10 and David Mosher '10 gave presentations on their summer research in Croatia with Assistant Professor Antun Husinec as part of his National Science Foundation-supported research on Jurassic carbonates.
Visiting Assistant Profesor Colby Smith, Associate Professor Cathy Shrady and Associate Professor Jeff Chiarenzelli '81 each co-authored papers describing geology of the Adirondack or Catskill regions of New York accomplished with students, St. Lawrence alumni or colleagues at other institutions. Professor Mark Erickson presented a poster with responses to questions regarding Sanctum laurentiensis, the trace fossil he described with Tim Bouchard '03 a number of years ago.
