Associate Professor of Religious Studies Michael R. Greenwald is a contributor to The Jewish Annotated New Testament, recently published by New York and Oxford: Oxford University Press (Amy-Jill Levine and Mark Z. Brettler, eds.).
In the book, Greenwald wrote the Commentary on 2 Peter and the article "The Canon of the New Testament."
The volume includes the full text of the New Testament (in the New Revised Standard Version translation), each book introduced and annotated, plus a full selection of essays on historical and religious topics, such as the historical background of the Greco-Roman world in the years leading up to New Testament times.
Its publishers state "An international team of scholars introduces and annotates the Gospels, Acts, Letters and Revelation from Jewish perspectives. They show how Jewish practices and writings, particularly the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, influenced the New Testament writers."
