English Class Compiles Interviews with Writers
Students in Visiting Assistant Professor of English Jill Talbot's class have conducted interviews with gay male writers and have published them on a website designed by Amy Yao '14.
These interviews were conducted as part of the course The Male Gaze: Truman Capote, Bernard Cooper, and Beyond. In addition, members of Talbot's Advanced Creative Non-Fiction class also conducted interviews just to be part of the project. Each student contacted a writer, interviewed the writer via email and wrote an introduction to the interview. Sixteen authors are featured on the site.
During the semester, author Bernard Cooper visited St. Lawrence University as part of the 2012-2013 Writers Series. He met with the class and discussed his work as well as the work of some of the writers featured here.
