I love being a neuroscience major at SLU. The professors in the department are incredibly knowledgeable, and their courses are some of the most interesting I have taken. Not only that, but being a part of their research has been a highlight of my time here. I’m currently developing a viability assay in a mouse hippocampal cell line (HT22 cells) for studying the mechanisms of neuroprotection of cerium oxide nanoparticles.

Elsewhere on the SLU campus I have been on the track and field team for three years, and I am a General Biology TA as well as a tutor in the WORD studio writing center. I was also fortunate enough to go abroad the spring semester of my junior year to Denmark, and based on my incredible experience I highly recommend the SLU abroad program to everyone who comes here.
