The performing arts have always been passion that I have continually cultivated in my life. I have had the great fortune to challenge myself in the performing arts by majoring in Performance and Communication Arts as well as being very involved in the Music Department-sponsored ensembles. In my four years at St. Lawrence I have been a part of three Music Department ensembles (The Laurentian Singers, Early Music Singers, and the Concert Band) which have not only taught me more about music, but also my capabilities as a student and musician. All three ensembles have helped me to reach out to my community and peers in a special and unique way. Being a part of the Laurentian Singers and having the ability to tour every spring break not only was a great way to visit different cities in the United States and learn more about music, but also reach out to those in need of hearing uplifting and powerful music. The absolute best feeling is when I am singing the School Songs at different events on campus or at the end of our concerts because I truly understand in those 4 minutes what it means to be a part of the St. Lawrence tradition and community.
