After taking an AP Psychology class in high school, I knew I wanted to study psychology in college. As soon as I got to St. Lawrence in the fall of 2008 I started working on my psychology major. I have enjoyed the large variety of psych classes St. Lawrence offers, especially Research Methods, Industrial/Organizational, and Developmental. Psychology is useful for many aspects of life and I find that psychological perspectives are applicable to my classes in all other departments of study. This fall I added an economics major and I am looking forward to creating a senior project that can encompass my interests in both psychology and economics.
In addition to academics I am a member of multiple organizations on campus. I have been on the riding team since my freshman year. Horse back riding has always been a significant part of my life and I love the fact that I can continue to compete in college. I am also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and hold the position of Vice President of Standards. I have really enjoyed living in the Kappa house this year and plan on residing there for the rest of my time at SLU. This spring I am also taking on the role of President of the Panhellenic Council. The Panhellenic Council unites all the sororities on campus and I love the opportunity to work with people whom I would not normally get that chance.
