Office Responsibilities
Just like many of my co-workers, I am responsible for a significant amount of travel in which I get to meet prospective students interested in learning more about St. Lawrence University (one of my favorite parts of the job)! This consists of: attending college fairs, visiting high schools and conducting off-campus interviews. I also read applications, conduct on-campus interviews, and generally help students out as they navigate their way through the sometimes daunting college admission process.
In addition to those responsibilities, I work with alumni that would like to help out with our recruiting process. This consists of managing the Laurentian Admissions Associates (LAA) program and the alumni-school liaison program. I also oversee the Community Service Scholarship program, as well as the SLU Book Award program.
Originally From
Nicholville, NY (a tiny town about 30 miles from Canton).
While in College…
I have always held a firm belief that education should be an ongoing process. An alumnus of St. Lawrence University, I have earned three degrees here. I received a B.A. in Sociology, and both a Masters Degree and Certification of Advanced Studies (C.A.S.) in Educational Administration. I also received a Master of Science in Teaching from SUNY Potsdam. I was inducted into two National Honorary Societies; Alpha Kappa Delta (Sociology), as well as Kappa Delta Pi (Education).
Outside of the classroom, I balanced my time between varsity athletics (Saints football team for one year and a defenseman for the Saints lacrosse team for three years), being a member of a national fraternity (Beta Theta Pi), serving on the Greek Council, various community service projects (i.e. the Big Brother/Big Sister program, which is now called SLU Buddies) and being a student worker in the athletics department.

What I like about St. Lawrence
My favorite thing about St. Lawrence is the people. I grew up in a small town and attended a fairly small school. When I came to St. Lawrence I never felt like I was lost in the crowd. The faculty and staff really care about their students and genuinely want to see them do well. I developed some amazing relationships here that have continued through today…
