Welcome to Visiting Professor Naomi Falk!
Art and Art History Department extends a warm welcome to visiting professor Naomi J. Falk. This semester Professor Falk will teach Introduction to Studio, Drawing and Sculpture. Professor Falk offers us this brief introduction:
Growing up in the wilds of Michigan, I planned to be an archaeologist, a brain surgeon, a heart surgeon, a meteorologist, and to travel around the world with Jacques Cousteau. None of those childhood dreams worked out, though I did learn to scuba dive. I came to study sculpture and ceramics at Michigan State and Portland State University, then to receive an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. I exhibit regionally and nationally, and I've been an artist in residence in Germany, Iceland, upstate New York, Vermont, and Nebraska. My work contemplates physical and psychological relationships to place.
