Designed for the collaboration of computer science and visual art students to work together to create video installations using processing language.

Processing is an open source software language that is used in the context of visual arts. Similar to java programming language, computer science and studio art students have the opportunity to learn the basics of this programming language, but also work together to create a final visual projection of their work.

This workshop will allow both categories of students to begin to think about technology’s contemporary interaction with arts, communication and design.

While the Creative Coding for Art and Design Workshop is geared more for students, it is open to the public, faculty and staff.  If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Sarah Knobel, Assistant Professor of Art.

Brandon Morse is a visual artist out of the Washington, D.C. area. He is a professor of digital media arts within the Art Department at the University of Maryland. Morse utilizes processing as his main resource to create large video and video installation works. He has recently collaborated with the David M Brown Planetarium and has shown his work nationally and internationally.
