Wendy Hall Speth '95
One of the outstanding field hockey players in St. Lawrence program history, Wendy Hall was the 1995 Outstanding Senior Female Athlete Award winner after a collegiate career which included four years of field hockey and two each of ice hockey and lacrosse.
The Lisa Strozewski Award winner as the outstanding freshman on the field hockey team in 1991, she was a first team regional All America and first team NYSWCAA selection in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and earned 2 nd team national All America honors as a sophomore and first team All America honors as a senior. She was selected for the 1994 North-South All Star game and was a Saint captain.
Wendy also played ice hockey in 1992 and 1993 and was the ECAC Division III Rookie of the Year in 1991-92. She played lacrosse in 1994 and 1995, earning NYSWCAA honors both seasons and captained the team as a senior.
She holds the record for goals in a game in field hockey with five against Skidmore in 1994 and shares the record for points in a game with 10 in that same game. She also shares the record for goals in a game in lacrosse with nine against Oneonta in 1995. She had 50 career goals in lacrosse including 28 as part of a 58-point season in 1994. She finished her career with 50 goals and 13 assists for 113 points. She is also one of six players to score 50 or more goals in a season in lacrosse when she scored 50 in the spring of 1994.
Wendy now works as a money manager in Ketchum, ID and resides in Hailey, ID with her husband Bryan and their two sons Colby and Dawson. She is still active as a hockey player, playing for the Sun Valley Sunsets.
