Helen "Tommie" Whalen '25

A native of Ogdensburg and a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, Tommie Whalen served St. Lawrence as its registrar and oen of its most avid fans of athletics.

A member of a number of honorary societies, she published a newsletter during World War II to serve as a link between St. Lawrence and its service men and women.

Her support and encouragement of SLU students and athletes throughout her tenure as registrar resulted in the awarding of the varsity "L"...at that time the only woman so honored by the athletic department.
