Men's Lacrosse Program
St. Lawrence University's men's lacrosse team maintains a tradition as one of the top Division III programs in the country. As of the end of the 2009 season, the Saints had won four regular-season Liberty League championships, were riding a streak of 32 consecutive conference wins, and had competed in four straight NCAA Division III tournaments.
The Saints have consistently been represented in the STX/USILA Coaches poll. Since 2001, the Saints have two ECAC Upstate Championships and five Liberty League regular-season championships, along with four league tournament titles.
On an individual level, many of the Saints have been recognized on both the league and national levels for their excellence on the field and in the classroom. They have had large contingents of All-Liberty League and All-Academic selections, and have had at least one player selected as a USILA All-American and to the STX/USILA North-South All-Star Game each year since 2001. In 2009, four Saints were named All-Americans, including a first-team member (PJ Santora '09) for the first time since 1988.
The Saints begin preparing for the season on the artificial turf in Leithead Field House in February and then head outdoors to North Country Field, an all-weather artificial turf field. The season typically opens in early March and includes a two-game southern trip during Spring Break.
The Saints' schedule is highly competitive and includes a regular-season league slate against conference foes Clarkson, Hamilton, Rensselaer, Skidmore, Union and Vassar as well as a number of nationally-ranked non-conference opponents, such as Cortland, Nazareth, Salisbury and Bowdoin in past years.
