#9 Saints Down #15 Navy

Amr Khaled Khalifa '16 earned a 3-0 sweep at the one spot in the Saints' 9-0 win over Navy

Feb. 2:  The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked #9 nationally, swept #15 Navy in the Robie Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints have won their sixth straight match and are 9-4 on the season.  Meanwhile, the Midshipmen fall to 24-6 with the loss. 

The Saints earned 3-0 sweeps at one, four, five and six en route to the victory.  Amr Khaled Khalifa beat Andrew McGuiness at one (11-3, 11-3, 11-6), Kyle Ogilvy beat Hunter Beck at four (11-7, 11-2, 11-3), Anderson Good beat Colin Barry at five (11-4, 12-10, 11-7) and Will Campo beat John Richey at six (11-5, 11-5, 11-7). 

At two, Ibrahim Khan came out victorious, topping James Kacergis in a tight 3-2 match (11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 9-11, 12-10), and Sebastian Riedelsheimer earned a 3-1 victory over Hunter Bouchard after falling in the first game at three (9-11, 11-5, 12-10, 11-6). 

Chris Fernandez and Vir Seth both earned 3-1 wins after seven and eight, respectively.  Fernandez topped Bill Kacergis (11-4, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9) and Seth defeated Mitchell Bottini (11-2, 11-6, 8-11, 11-9).

Duncan Maxwell rounded out the Saints' scoring at nine with a 3-2 win over Cotter Walker (9-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-5, 11-8), and Amay Merchant beat John Hsu 3-1 in an exhibition match (11-5, 11-8, 11-13, 11-3). 

St. Lawrence will be back in action on Feb. 6 when it hosts Middlebury at the Robie Squash Courts at 5:00pm.  The match is also the last home event for the team's lone senior, Merchant.
