#9 Saints Win 7th Straight with Sweep of Panthers

Feb. 6: The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked #9 nationally, stretched its win-streak to seven matches with a 9-0 sweep of #16 Middlebury College on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints, who improve to 10-4 on the season, also celebrated senior day as it was the last home match for the team's lone senior Amay Merchant. Meanwhile, the Panthers fall to 12-6 on the season.
The Saints earned 3-0 sweeps at one, four, five and six en route to the victory. Amr Khaled Khalifa beat Jay Dolan at one (11-4, 11-5, 11-6), Kyle Ogilvy beat Will Moore at four (11-9, 11-2, 11-5), Anderson Good beat Robert Calluccio at five (11-5, 11-4, 11-6) and Will Campo beat Harrison Croll at six (11-4, 11-4, 11-9).
Ibrahim Khan and Sebastian Riedelsheimer were each victorious in five games. Khan battled back against Parker Hurst from a 8-4 in the final game to take the match at two (12-10, 8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-9), while Riedelsheimer topped Spencer Hurst 11-8, 8-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-7.
Seven through 10 won in four games for the Saints. Chris Fernandez defeated Reed Palmer 11-5, 7-11, 11-5, 12-10, Vir Seth defeated Will Clarke 6-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4, Merchant defeated Will Hanley 11-6, 5-11, 11-9, 13-11, and Duncan Maxwell earned an exhibition victory over David Cromwell 11-6, 10-12, 11-5, 11-4.
St. Lawrence will next travel to Brunswick, Maine for the DIII Invitational on Feb. 8-11.
