Roberts Named Liberty League Track Outdoor Performer of the Year

Jarell Roberts swept the Liberty League Track Performer of the Year honors for 2012

June 11: St. Lawrence University senior sprinter Jarell Roberts was unanimously selected as the 2012 Liberty League Outdoor Track and Field Track Performer of the Year in voting by the league's coaches.

Roberts, the Liberty League champion in the 100 and 200 meters, was an NCAA qualifier in the 100 and was also part of the winning 4x100 meter relay team in the Liberty League Championships. At the NYSCTC  championships, he was first in the 100, second in the 200 and helped the 4x100 relay to a second place finish. He ran on the 4x100 which set a SLU record in that event at 41.98 seconds at the ECAC Championships.

Roberts' selection as the outdoor award winner completed a sweep for the Saint sprinter as he was also named Liberty League Indoor Performer of the Year. He was selected as Liberty League Track Performer of the Week four times during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
