Five Saints Named To USTFCCC Academic All Star Teams

Brian Kane was named to the USTFCCC All Academic Team

July 25: Five members of St. Lawrence University's track and field programs have been named to the 2012 U.S. track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All Academic teams.

May graduate Jenna Hulton, junior-to-be Ariel Beccia and Divya Biswal, who will be a sophomore in the fall were selected as the women's All Academic Team members while Jake Fredericks, who will be a senior in the upcoming season and Brian Kane, who will be a junior, were the men's honorees.

Hulton was a biology major from Aurora, NY and was the Liberty League Indoor Track Performer of the Year. She was Liberty League champion in the 1000 indoors and the 1500 outdoors. Beccia is a neuroscience major from Rutland, MA. and was fourth in the Liberty League 1500 and seventh in the 800 outdoors and was third in the NYSCTC 5000, running the middle distances indoors. Biswal is a biology major from Ottawa, ONT and was Liberty League and NYSCTC champion in the triple jump outdoors and was second in the Liberty League long jump. She ran on the Liberty League Champion 4x200 relay and competed in the sprints and hurdles.

Fredericks is a philosophy major from Ogdensburg and competed in multi-events as well as starring in the hurdles. He finished sixth in the NYSCTC heptathlon  and  was Liberty League champion in the 110 high hurdles and third in the 400 hurdles.  Kane, a computer science and math major from Baldwinsville,  competed in the jumps for the Saints, finishing fourth in the NYSTC high jump indoors and second outdoors.
