Scott Wins, Samaroo 2nd at Ithaca Invitational

Mike Scott won the high jump at Ithaca on Saturday
Feb. 2: Mike Scott won the high jump and Jamal Samaroo was second in the triple jump for the top performances for the St. Lawrence University men's indoor track and field team as it prepped for the upcoming Liberty League Championships at the Ithaca Invitational.

Scott jumped 1.93 meters to win the high jump and Brian Kane was third on misses, also clearing 1.93 meters. Samaroo jumped 13.46 meters for his second place finish in the triple jump with Kane finishing sixth.

The Saint distance medley relay team of Spencer Patterson, Nick Crawford, Jon Eng and Scott Smolensky placed second in 10:18.61 and the 4x400 relay of Crawford, Andy Fisher, Eng and Patterson was eighth in 3:33.89.

Other top ten finishes for the Saint men included a fifth in the 60 meter dash by Omaru Kabia in 7.21 seconds while Eng was sixth in 12:38.22 and Corey Hahnl ninth in the 1000. Andy Fishe was eighth in 23.42 in the 200 and Scott Smolensky was ninth in the 3000 in 8:54.03.

In the field events, A.J. Blaisdell finished ninth in the weight throw with a 13.58 meter throw and Scott Kasson was fifth with a 13.59 meter mark in the shot put. Adrian Wilson added a seventh in the long jump with a 6.45 meter leap.

 Vince Maniscalco finished 12th in the heptathlon, placing in the top five in the 60 meters and long jump. He was third in the 60 meter multi-event competition in 7.38 seconds and fifth in the long jump at 6.28 meters..
