Saints Finish Seventh in WBCA National Academic Rankings

July 25: The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team earned a top-10 finish in the 2012 Women's Basketball Coaches Association national academic rankings. The Saints posted a team GPA of 3.55, good for seventh place overall.
It is the second time in program history that the team earned a spot in the top-10. The 2007-08 team finished third in the national academic rankings.
"I'm extremely proud of our team for this accomplishment," said St. Lawrence head coach Dan Roiger. "We talked all season about excelling both on the floor and in the classroom, and this year, we accomplished that goal. This takes tremendous effort and commitment from each and every player. To have won the Liberty League regular season title and to finish in the top-10 academically is very impressive."
The top team in the country in the academic rankings was Coach Roiger's former team, Northland College, with a GPA of 3.71. Case Western Reserve, Hope, Messiah and Gustavus Adolphus rounded out the top-5.
