Winners of six of the last eight outdoor league championships and 10 of 12 indoor titles in the history of the Liberty League, St. Lawrence University's women's track and field program competes and trains at one of the finest small-college track and field complexes in the nation. The team won its first-ever ECAC championship at the 2007 indoor meet, and was ranked as high as 11^th in the nation in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 campaigns.

The Merrick-Pinkard Track Complex was the host site of the 2003 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, while Newell Field House was the site of the 2005 ECAC Indoor Championships.  Like the Merrick-Pinkard complex, it has been the site of New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) championships as well as many large invitational meets.

The Saint women's program has been highly successful on the league, state and regional levels.  Saint athletes hold 17 indoor and outdoor league meet individual records and two relay records. They also hold seven NYSCTC association records between indoor and outdoor track, and four championship meet records.

Saint women have turned in All-America performances 13 times since 1997 and have won numerous league and NYSCTC individual honors for outstanding performances. In 2009, Alyssa Pirinelli '10 was named conference Field Performer of the Year, Wendy Pavlus '11 was named conference Runner of the Year and Jenna Hulton'12 gave the Saint women their third straight Rookie of the Year claim.

The Saint coaching staff, led by Director of Cross-Country and Track and Field Mike Howard, has earned several coaching staff-of-the-year honors on both the Liberty League and NYSCTC levels in the past several seasons.
