Bell, Biswal Are Event Champions at Ithaca Invitational

Eliza Bell won the high jump at Ithaca on Saturday

Feb. 2: Eliza Bell won the high jump and Divya Biswal the triple jump to highlight St. Lawrence University's women's indoor track and field team's participation in the Ithaca Bomber Invitational on Saturday.

Bell won the high jump at 1.63 meters with Marissa Turner fourth and Kylie Morris fifth, both clearing 1.58 meters in the non-scoring meet while Biswal set a facility record with her win with a mark of 11.49 meters in the triple jump.

The Saint Distance Medley Relay team of Ariel Beccia, Carly Stine, Jess Marini and Ella Martin finished second in 12:17.12 while Lizzie Edwards added a second place finish in the mile with a 5:11.44 clocking.

Other top ten finishes for the Saint women included Jessica Tyree's third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.24 meters, a fourth by the 4x200 relay team of Chinelo Asenya, Biswal, Cassia Hameline and Kylee Disotell in 1:53.83, a fifth in the shot put by Kristen Linder with a 11.15 meter throw, a fourth place finish by Marin in the 1000 in 3:04.123 with Beccia fifth and a eighth place finish in the 400 meters by Hannah Kinsey in 1:03.59.

Competition in the multi-event portion of the meet will conclude on Sunday.

Up next for the Saints is the Liberty League Indoor Championship at RIT on Feb. 9.
