A Co-Ed Camp, Residential or Day Campers
Participants at the 2013 Saints Squash Academy will receive top-level individual instruction from some of the premier players in the world, including Omar Mosaad (#9 in World PSA rankings) and St. Lawrence University standout Amr Khaled Khalifa, a two-time world junior champion and 2013 CSA National Champion.
The academy will be hosted by St. Lawrence head squash coach Chris Abplanalp, whose men's team climbed to #6 in the nation in 2013, the highest in program history.
Typical Day at Saints Squash Academy
Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of activities both on and off the squash court. Below is a typical day at the academy,
including meal times, practice sessions, etc.
Each day, a presentation will be held following lunch. These presentations will include important topics such as strength & conditioning, flexibility, college preparation and individual video analysis.
Meanwhile, evening activies will include golf, the
climbing wall, movies, canoeing and more!
7:30am - Wake-up Call
8:00am - 8:45am - Breakfast
9:00am - 11:30am - On-court sessions
11:30am - 12:30pm - Pool and Video session
12:30pm - 1:30pm - Lunch
1:30pm - 3:00pm - Presentations
(i.e. strength and conditioning, college prep)
3:00pm - 5:30pm - On-court session/matches
5:30pm - 6:30pm - Dinner
6:30pm - 9:00pm - Evening Activities
10:30pm - Lights out
Reminder
Campers should bring: all necessary squash equipment (racquet, goggles, court shoes, etc.), swimsuit and towel. Overnight campers should also bring bedding, alarm clock, towel and personal items.
Meet the Coach: Chris Abplanalp, Head Squash Coach at St. Lawrence University
Chris Abplanalp has been at the helm of the St. Lawrence squash program since the 2004-05 season, and has helped grow the Saints into one of the premier collegiate programs in the country. A five-time Liberty League Coach of the Year, he has guided the men's program to a top-10 spot in the national rankings, while the women's program reached as high as No. 12. Coach Abplanalp has coached several Liberty League major award winners (Player and Rookie of the Year), as well as numerous All-Conference honorees.
