Moving Up Day Awards

The Beta Beta Beta Outstanding Senior Award is given to a graduating biology major having outstanding achievements in academics, research and departmental service. Along with the recognition of being the outstanding biology major for the class of ‘10 the award provides a one year subscription to the journal Science. Also, the award winners name is added to an engraved plaque posted outside the biology department office.
This year the BBB award goes to TARA HETZ, REBECCA KLAR and NINA RHIM

The Edward and Gertrude Warner Award is given to a promising biology major, preferably in, but not limited to, the field of pre-medicine or pre-dentistry. The recipient(s) of the award are selected by the biology department at its’ discretion using criteria such as personality, initiative and academic ability. The award is used to help defray the costs of application to medical or dental school.

The Warner Award is shared this year by GABRIELLE CONDICT and CAITLIN ESTES.

The Crowell Summer Scholarship in Field Biology is given to support field research in ecology, environmental science, and other natural history disciplines that are carried out at a field station. The scholarship is given on the basis of need, ability and character and recognizes Robert L. Crowell, former head of the Thomas Y. Crowell Publishing Company and his interest in Natural History and Conservation.

This year the Crowell Summer Scholarship goes to Eloise LaChance and Hannah Brubaker.

The Dr. F.W. Delmage Pre-medical Prize is presented to the senior who is a top pre-medical student and has been accepted at an accredited medical school. Dr. Delmage was a distinguished North Country physician. This award is given in his memory by the members of the Delmage family.

The Delmage prize is awarded this year to CAITLIN WELCH.
