For as long as I can remember I have loved the outdoors. I would fill my free time with little adventures around the small Vermont town where I grew up. St. Lawrence has provided me many opportunities to continue exploring the world in which we live through my studies as a Biology major. This culminated with the chance to conduct a summer research project in the North County that focused on monitoring the population of the American Kestrel, a beautiful little bird of prey that thrives in the extensive hay fields of the area. This hands on experience gave me an understanding of field research and prepared me for future research opportunities. The best part, I think, about being here at St. Lawrence is the ability to work so closely with professors who are extremely passionate about their work and who encourage their students to pursue their interests.
