After graduating, I wondered if students who studied business or finance at other schools would have an advantage over me when applying for jobs, but it was actually the opposite. At St. Lawrence, you are taught more than facts and figures; you are taught how to quickly understand complex problems and find solutions. In the world of finance and business, the ability to problem-solve and think outside the box is what gives you an edge and sets you apart from the rest of the crowd. From the point of view of someone who went to St. Lawrence and now works in investments, the new Business in the Liberal Arts major achieves this.
