As a Community Mentor (CM) of the CCE, the CM’s primary responsibility is to work with local agencies and organizations to develop, implement and coordinate community-University partnerships designed to address unmet needs as defined by the community. As part of their partnership building, the mentors will train and support fellow students placed in Community Based Learning engagement activities. Job description are available below.

Yearly recruitment occurs in late March of the Spring semester. During the recruitment period, applicants are asked to complete a New Community Mentor Application or a Returning Community Mentor Application and submit online by the deadline listed below. Applicants must pay close attention to the required documents that need to be submitted to complete the application. Applicants must submit a 250 word Vision Statement, a copy of the applicants current academic transcript, a current resume, and two letters of recommendation (one from a SLU Faculty or Staff, one from a local community partner).
Both the New Community Mentor Application and the Returning Community Mentor Application are due on Monday, March 31st.
Interviews will be conducted the week of March 31st- April 4th.
Decisions will be made and announced by Friday, April 4th.
