I am Brijlal Chaudhari. I am from Nepal. I am Economics major and African Studies minor. I studied in Kenya during the spring semester of 2008. The Kenya semester gave me an opportunity to travel to different parts of East Africa and experience different cultures. I stayed with a host families in Kericho and Nairobi. My host families taught me a lot about Kenya and its socio-economic challenges. Within a short period of time I became comfortable with my host families. Since my return from the program we have been exchanging emails and letters.
The best part of my semester was my Independent Study (IDS). I went to Jinja, Uganda where I was working for an NGO called Soft Power Education. I was making bricks which were used to build schools. While I was in Uganda I also studies the effects of Bujagali Hygdropower Project on Nile River and the Ugandan Economy.
