BothLondon has had an extraordinary tradition of theater for centuries, with plays reflecting importatnt issues of the day, often located within the context of universals in human experience. With a combination of state and prviate support, London has over a hundred theaters, offering classics of dramatic literature as well as challenging new plays about contemporary life, plus popular forms such as pantomime. Students in this course will see a play a week, go behind the scenes at the National Theater, and explore the role of theater in contemporary London.
Pre-requisites: English 250 for English credit; no pre-requisites for PCA credit.
