St. Lawrence University's Canaras Conference Center is a traditional Adirondack camp situated on Upper Saranac Lake. The camp is located approximately 15 minutes from the village of Saranac Lake and half an hour from Lake Placid, in the midst of the Adirondack Mountains. Use of the conference center is for official St. Lawrence University functions as well as alumni, faculty and staff of the University. Canaras consists of ten guest cabins, a dining hall, library, boathouse and sundeck. Guests are invited to use the recreational facilities, which include a tennis/basketball court, children's beach, t-dock, in addition to numerous canoes, sailboats and paddle boats. Water skiing is also available for camp guests. The Canaras season begins in May, one week after St. Lawrence's commencement and concludes the week prior to the start of classes in August. Space may be reserved during one of the eight "Alumni Weeks" with preference and an advanced reservation form given to those guests who vacationed at Canaras the prior summer. Please use the links at the top of the page to learn more about Canaras Conference Center. |
