May 2005 Catamount Lodge Under New Management

St. Lawrence University has sold the University's property in the Town of Colton, known as Catamount.

Check here for the new managers' Web site.

Ruth T. and Joe F. McWilliams, of Springfield, Virginia, now own the property and they have a multi-phased plan for the property, introducing over 20 years such programs as sustainable forest management in accordance with Adirondack Park Agency regulations; woodland and related education activities; daytime public use of the trails for hiking, bird-watching, canoeing and kayaking; and public rentals of the lodge for family retreats, group meetings and other events.

The new owners plan to connect with local schools, universities, civic groups, youth groups and other non-profit organizations to develop on-site programs.

Snow Bowl for Sale
The Snow Bowl is 394.5 acres with a mile of frontage on both sides of Route 56. Located in the Town of Colton outside the Adirondack Park, the Snow Bowl was an alpine and Nordic recreational skiing site operated for many years by the University. Cold Brook flows along the road the full length of the property. Contact Vice President for Finance Kathryn Mullaney, 315-229-5897.
