Welcome From Our Dining Services Staff!

St. Lawrence University Dining Services makes every attempt to identify ingredients which might cause allergic reactions for those with food allergies. Every effort is made to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies. There is always a risk of contamination. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change or substitute at any time, without notice. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk. St. Lawrence University Dining Services will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to food consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating an any University establishments. Students/customers with food allergies are encouraged to contact Dining Services at St. Lawrence University for additional information and/or support.

St. Lawrence University is a four-year residential University, requiring its students to live and eat on campus during each semester. We operate our own dining service, one of the most student-oriented dining services in the country. Catering to your needs is our prime objective and we truly want to satisfy you. We offer wholesome, nutritious, homestyle, traditional meals as well as fast food and convenience store foods for those who prefer them.

Dining services offers you a choice from our Variable Meal Plans. The Variable Meal Plans have been designed in response to suggestions, inquiries, and assistance from University students and particularly the Committee on Residential Life. These plans allow a student to choose a dining pattern of his or her choice. At the same time, we have sought to maintain the advantages of our "all you can eat" policy at each particular meal.

Underclass students may choose from two different meal plans while seniors may choose from three. In addition, all students may carry a campus-wide account with any meal plan they choose.

Descriptions of all meal plans follow. Please read through the plan descriptions, sign and date the meal plan agreement of your choice, and return the agreement in the envelope provided no later than June 1, 2006. After you get to campus, your chosen meal plan will be in effect and you will have a five-day grace period in which you may change to a different plan. After that time, you will not be able to change until the beginning of the next semester. Don't forget to include your photo for use in making your Campus Card ID when returning your board contract.

We encourage each student to bring one or two settings of silverware and dishes for use in your room. There are events students celebrate, such as birthdays, when these items are needed. "Souvenirs" from the dining facilities are often used for these occasions, but this increases our cost of serving you. Please help us by bringing a set or two from home.

We hope you continue to enjoy the fine variety of food and beverages offered by our dining services staff, and that the Variable Meal Plans provide you with added flexibility in tailoring your own diet. If you have any questions regarding our program or services in general, please do not hesitate to contact us at Lee Hall, phone 315-229-5995.

Sincerely,
Cindy Y. Atkins, R.D.
