The four economics majors participated in the student sessions at the Eastern Economic Association 35th Annual Conference at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, February 27 to March 1, 2009.

- Stefka Antonova '09 and Mihnea (Mike) Tudoreanu '09 presented: "The Effects of a Raised Minimum Wage on Employment: Differences Across States and Social Groups"
- Jose Domingos '09 presented: "Microfinance: Client Impact Study in Angola"
