During my time at St. Lawrence I have been a member of the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team, where I was the 2006 Liberty League Rookie of the Year, a team representative to the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma where I have previously served as my chapter’s Education chair.
In the summer of 2008 I was awarded a fellowship through the Newell Center for Arts Technology (NCAT) for a project entitled “From Weave to Web: Creating an Online Digital Collection of West African Textiles” working with an alumni-donated collection of West African textiles. Last fall 2009, I gave a gallery discussion of my research which resulted in an exhibition entitled “Weave to Web: West African Textiles from the Christopher Roy '70 and Nora (Leonard '69) Roy Collection” of which I was a co-curator.
Earlier in 2009, I had the opportunity to study abroad on St. Lawrence’s Kenya Semester Program during which I completed an Independent Study portion of the semester working in Nairobi with a digital design school called Nairobits which educates underprivileged youth from Nairobi on website design.
I currently serve as a Peer Advisor for the Kenya Semester Program in the Center for International and Intercultural Studies and work in the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery as a monitor and installations assistant.
