Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention Certification Training

New York State’s Dignity for All Student’s Act (Dignity Act) took effect on July 1, 2012 and was amended, effective July 1, 2013 to provide NYS public elementary and secondary school students with a safe, supportive environment free from discrimination, intimidation, taunting, harassment, and bullying on school property, a school bus, and/or at a school function. 

Completion of this 6-hour course meets the requirement for certification/licensure under the Dignity Act (§14(5) of Chapter 102 of the Laws of 2012).  St. Lawrence University’s Education Department is an approved NYSED provider.  The training pro-actively addresses the social patterns of harassment, bullying and discrimination .  It is carefully designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to create and support an affirming educational environment for all students through addressing school culture and climate.

Part 1 In-Person Session:
The first session offered on a first come first serve basis.

Part 2 Online Session:
A 3-hour online course. Information will be given at the Part 1 in-person session.
