Professor Barbara Tewksbury, Hamilton College, will deliver a seminar entitled “Eyes in the Sky and Boots on the Ground: Combining Google Earth and Field Work to Study Enigmatic (and Beautiful!) Structures in the Western Desert of Egypt”. The speaker is a structural geologist whose current research interests include structures in the Stable Platform, Western Desert, Egypt, deformation bands in subglacially erupted basaltic tuffs in Iceland, and the Desert Eyes Project – an NSF-funded research opportunity for students.
