- Renato Rosaldo visit: Professor Martha Chew-Sanchez coordinated the 2007 Crimmel Colloquium, held annually at St. Lawrence “to discuss issues of fundamental importance to the liberal arts college and to liberal education.” The 2007 speaker was Dr. Renato Rosaldo, Professor of Cultural and Social Anthropology at New York University. One of the world’s leading anthropologists and author of the influential book Culture and Truth: The Remaking of Social Analysis (Beacon Press, 1993), Rosaldo delivered a public lecture on September 25. While on campus, he also participated in a faculty seminar and a luncheon at which faculty members had the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with Dr. Rosaldo on the ideas presented in his lecture.
