Staff Development Day
Staff Development Day will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m. in Eben Holden. It is open to all employees; registration is through January 6.
Program topics and presenters are:
- Diversity in the Workplace: Appreciating Differences in a Diverse World
Diversity can encompass race, gender, ethnicity, age, personality, cognitive style, tenure, organizational function, education, background and more. Diverse organizations where differences are valued report increased productivity, better morale, and fewer grievances, while providing a healthier environment for employees. Anthony Gray, of eni work/life solutions, will discuss a variety of topics, including defining diversity; why diversity matters; becoming aware of and overcoming barriers to diversity; and communication skills for promoting inclusion and respect in the workplace.
- Diversity at St. Lawrence: Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion Kimberly Flint-Hamilton
This presentation is an opportunity for Ms. Flint-Hamilton to introduce herself and her thoughts about diversity and inclusion at St. Lawrence to the community. In addition to sharing some initial thoughts and impressions about St. Lawrence, she will also take time to answer some questions.
