African Studies

Aluka

An international, collaborative initiative building an online digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa.  Resource types range from full-text books and academic articles to news clippings, periodicals, archival documents, photographs, letters, previously unpublished reports, maps, pamphlets, oral histories, and other historical documents. There are currently two collections; African Cultural Heritage Sites and Landscapes, and Struggles for Freedom in Southern Africa.

Music Index

Formerly The Music Index Online by Harmonie Park Press, this database provides comprehensive coverage of the music field and every aspect of the classical and popular worlds of music. With cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for hundreds of periodicals, this resource is an invaluable resource for both the novice and scholar.  Featuring digitized content from 1970 to the present, the Music Index contains cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts of articles about music, musicians and the music industry for more than 480 periodicals.

EconLit

The American Economic Association's database provides citations and abstracts to economic research dating back to 1886. EconLit has fulltext for over 600 journals, including the American Economic Association journals up to current issues (American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Literature, and Journal of Economic Perspectives).

Ethnic NewsWatch

Full-text newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic and minority press.  Includes popular, news and community publications as well as scholarly journals.  Ethnic categories covered include African American/Caribbean/African, Arab/Middle Eastern, Asian/Pacific Islander, European/Eastern European, Hispanic, Jewish, and Native People.  Nearly a quarter of the material in the collection is in Spanish.  Updated daily.

MLA International

The MLA International Bibliography provides a subject index for books and articles published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics. It is compiled by the staff of the MLA Office of Bibliographic Information Services with the cooperation of more than 100 contributing bibliographers in the United States and abroad. The MLA International Bibliography annually indexes over 66,000 books and articles.

Full-text articles from scholarly journals and literary magazines are combined with critical essays, work and topic overviews, full-text works, biographies, and more to provide a wealth of information on authors, their works, and literary movements.  Includes Dictionary of Literary Biography  Contemporary Authors  Contemporary Literary Criticism and related series.

More than 17,000 of the most credible business, legal, and news sources.  Includes law reviews & journals, Supreme Court decisions, cases & statutes, and the full text of thousands of newspapers, company profiles & other business sources.

JSTOR

Full text of the complete back files of important scholarly journals, generally from the first volume through issues published prior to the most recent three years.
