ONI BUCHANAN PERFORMS MARCH 25
American female pianist and poet, Oni Buchanan, will perform Immaculate Textures, a concert including music by Maurice Ravel, Frederic Chopin, Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven. The performance will take place in the Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall on Sunday, March 25th at 2 pm.
Lindy Strauss' Intro to Studio classes have prepared four large tiled paintings illustrating further textural concepts, which will be displayed in the lobby at the concert.
Buchanan graduated from the University of Virginia, from the New England Conservation of Music with a Master’s degree in piano performance and from the University of Iowa Writer’s Workship an M.F.A. in poetry. Buchanan’s concerts have been described as “…interdisciplinary in nature, directly engaging the intimate connections between the arts, and frequently including adventurous contemporary works alongside established repertoire, bringing works from disparate centuries into fascinating and enlightening conversation.”
