Amy Hauber
Associate Professor of Art and Art History Amy Hauber is presenting research at the International Graphic Arts Education Association Fall Design Conference at Lyndon State College in Vermont. Hauber's presentation is titled "Practicing Heijnen's Authentic Art Education REMIX: Participatory Hybrid Media Cultures as Fuel for Interdisciplinary Art Education."

Hauber participated in a week-long seminar called Remix Culture at the Amsterdam School of Art in July, 2011. The seminar marked the beginning of a collaboration and research project with the school's chief researcher, Emiel Heijnen, and 23 other international artists and media art educators selected to participate.

At the conference, Hauber will "introduce the basics of Heijnen's research and the early outcomes of her own practice. Authentic Art Education Remix is an art education model akin to a systems thinking model for artists; a model combining unique theories of 'remix practices' and 'authentic art education' for artistic inspiration and knowledge creation in the classroom."
