The Spring 2011 issue of the literary journal Fourth Genre, published by Michigan State University Press, has content from several St. Lawrence University members of the St. Lawrence English department.
Included in the volume are the essay "The Swimming Pool," by Viebranz Visiting Writer Peter Selgin; a roundtable discussion on "Aftershocks of Memoir," with Professor of English Bob Cowser and Craig Professor of English Natalia Singer; and a review of Cowser's book Green Fields: Crime, Punishment, and a Boyhood Between.
Fourth Genre: Explorations in Nonfiction is a journal devoted to publishing notable, innovative work in nonfiction. The title reflects the editors' "intention to give nonfiction its due as a literary genre; to give writers of the fourth genre a showcase for their work and to give readers a place to find the liveliest and most creative works in the form."
