Christopher W. Stevens '04, of Clarence, New York, recently gave a presentation on his research at the 115th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America, held in Seattle.

Stevens' presentation, with Assistant Professor of Geology Stephen Robinson, was titled "Subsurface Investigation into the Internal Architecture of Lacustrine Strandline Deposits, Northern New York." It was based on research he conducted during the summer, for which he was awarded a University Fellowship by St. Lawrence. It is also the topic for his senior thesis in geology this year.

Chapin Professor of Geology J. Mark Erickson also gave presentations at the conference, and Barbara Tewksbury '73, professor of geology at Hamilton College, received the Neil Miner Award for teaching, presented by the National Association of Geoscience Teachers, for exceptional contributions to the stimulation of interest in the earth sciences.
