Iris Longo '13, of White Plains, NY, has won the Seventh Annual Northern New York Library
Network Award for Outstanding Students in NNYLN Member Libraries. Longo, a biology and sociology major, works in the cataloging department of Owen D. Young Library and is pictured above with, left, Acquisitions/Cataloging Librarian Michelle Gillie and, at right, Cataloging Technician Mary Austin.
The staff of participating NNYLN libraries are invited to nominate students to receive this award.
These students exemplify the standards of service and professionalism that make them role models for all student workers in libraries. Full- and part-time students are eligible to be nominated by supervisory
personnel from the participating library.
Longo has worked for the library since the fall of 2010. She is also secretary of the student government organization and was recently appointed to the search committee for the vice president for libraries and information technology.
