A first-person account of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, written by a St. Lawrence University senior who spent the summer in Palestine, has been published in The Palestine Chronicle.

A piece titled "If You Live Over 'There' Then You Are A Terrorist," by Brian K. Lind '04, of Delmar, NY, was published on August 27. In it, Lind describes difficulties he had at a checkpoint while attempting to return to his apartment in the evening hours.

Lind and Kelly O'Ryan '04, of Clarkston, MI, studied in Palestine during the summer and are spending the fall semester in Amman, Jordan, in the study program of the School for International Training. Called "Modernization and Social Change," the program includes study of Arabic; a nine-week homestay in Amman; educational excursions and a four-week independent study project. Their summer study in Palestine was funded by the Fred H. Kahrs '59 Endowment for Global Studies.

Lind is a global studies/environmental studies major; O'Ryan is a global studies major.
