St. Lawrence University Director of Athletics Margaret Strait will join seven other graduates of the State University of New York at Cortland as new members of the college's C-Club Athletic Hall of Fame.

Strait and the other alumni will be inducted during the 35th annual Hall of Fame banquet on October 11; they join 169 alumni and 19 honorary members.

A 1967 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Strait competed as a member of the ski club and swim club while earning a bachelor's degree in physical education. She also holds a master's degree in counseling from St. Lawrence, where she has been a member of the faculty since 1970. Strait was women's tennis coach for 17 years and men's tennis coach for eight years at St. Lawrence, and was the New York State Coach of the Year in tennis in 1994. She has been the University's director of athletics since 1998.

Established in 1969, the C-Club Hall of Fame recognizes Cortland alumni who competed as athletes at the college and who have since distinguished themselves in their professions and within their communities.
