Travis Proulx '04
Travis Babcock Proulx '04 has been named to The Capitol's "40 Under 40" list of "rising stars in government and politics" in Albany. The publication covers New York State government topics.
Proulx, deputy press secretary for the Senate Majority, was a multifield major at St. Lawrence and participated in its Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). He was also active in the Laurentian Singers and the Thelomathesian Society as an undergraduate; Proulx holds a master's degree from the City University of New York.
He is quoted in The Capitol story saying, "One of my first jobs was working for a higher education opportunity program that helps low-income and disadvantaged students succeed in college. I was in that program when I was in college, and I would not have gone to school otherwise. It instilled in me a passion for keeping programs like that alive and thriving."
